The reality

Child care has a perception problem.

Families are paying more than ever — and asking harder questions about what their child is actually getting for that investment.

  • What is my child learning while they are here?
  • How do I know if my child is on track developmentally?
  • What does the center do if they are not?
  • Why am I paying this much if there is no program behind it?
Child care staff see enrolled children for 8–10 hours a day. Their pediatrician sees them for 15 minutes a year. The developmental information that lives in your center never makes it to the clinic — unless you have a system.
🏆

Centers with a developmental program win

The child care centers gaining market share in 2025 are the ones that can answer every parent question specifically, confidently, and with evidence behind them.

🔍

Early identification changes outcomes

Developmental concerns identified before age 3 are significantly more responsive to intervention than those caught at kindergarten entry. Your center is uniquely positioned to see them early.

📋

Most centers have no system

Great caregivers observe development every day. Without a structured framework, those observations have no place to go — and families never hear them.

What Thrivance is

A complete developmental infrastructure for your center.

Not a curriculum. Not a worksheet program. A system that turns what your staff already observes into actionable developmental support — for every child, every day.

📊

Developmental Progress Tracker

Every enrolled child has a personal file tracking 25+ skills across five domains from birth through age 5. Three observable stages: Watching For, Working On, Achieved.

🎮

Structured Activity Guide

Two 30-minute guided play sessions per day, matched to each age group's developmental priorities. Every activity card includes goal, materials, step-by-step instructions, and documentation guidance.

🩺

Physician Communication Tool

A clean developmental summary any family can bring to their pediatrician appointment — bridging what your center sees daily with what the physician sees annually.

💬

Parent Communication Scripts

Ready-made language for routine developmental updates, milestone celebrations, and the more sensitive concern conversations — consistent and professional every time.

📣

Marketing Toolkit

Branded enrollment talking points, FAQ sheets, social media copy, and website language. We built the value story. You tell it.

🎓

Staff Training

8-hour initial certification training (live or recorded) that prepares your team to implement the program, use the tools, and communicate with families confidently.

Five developmental domains

Every child. Every domain. Every day.

Personal / Social
Attachment, emotional awareness, self-regulation, and the ability to engage in cooperative play.
Language & Communication
Receptive language, expressive language, vocabulary, and social communication.
Gross Motor
Rolling, sitting, walking, running, jumping, and whole-body coordination.
Fine Motor
Hand strength, grasp development, eye-hand coordination, drawing, and pre-writing skills.
Feeding & Self-Care
Oral motor development, utensil use, dressing, hygiene, and growing independence.
No domain exists in isolation. A child with language delays may struggle socially because social interaction is language-dependent. A motor delay can reduce exploration, which in turn affects cognitive development. Thrivance tracks all five — because that is how children actually develop.

Early Edge Strive Camp.

A structured Saturday developmental intensive that brings your daily program to the surface — visible, vibrant, and open to your entire community. Every certified center receives the complete camp program at no additional cost.

What Early Edge Strive Camp is:

Children rotate through five developmental stations by age group, guided by trained staff using the same evidence-based activities your center runs every weekday. Parents observe. Community families experience your methodology firsthand. At least one family at every camp asks: "Can my child come here every day?"

A third revenue stream — on top of certification returns.

Early Edge Strive Camp gives certified centers the ability to generate direct event revenue from the community — while simultaneously building enrollment, reputation, and family trust. • ★ Host as a free community event to maximize attendance and enrollment conversions
  • ★ Charge a per-child registration fee and generate direct event revenue
  • ★ Run monthly to build a community calendar event families plan around
  • ★ Invite pediatricians and community leaders to observe your methodology in action
Included with every certification. Every certified center receives the full Early Edge Strive Camp program at no additional cost — the Center Host Guide, Staff Implementation Manual, and all 25 station activity cards across all five age groups.
For families

What a certified center means for your child.

When you see the Thrivance certification seal, you are looking at a center that operates a structured, evidence-based developmental program for every child in their care — not just supervision.

Every child has a developmental file

Your child's progress across five developmental domains is tracked from their first day. Not a group assessment — a personal file specific to your child, updated weekly.

Structured play sessions every day

Two 30-minute guided play sessions per day, targeted to your child's developmental stage. Activities are built from CDC, WHO, ASHA, and AAP guidelines. Your child experiences it as play. Your center knows exactly what it is building.

Your pediatrician gets the full picture

At any time, your center can generate a developmental summary sheet you can bring to your child's next appointment. Your doctor sees your child for 15 minutes a year. Your center sees them for 8–10 hours a day. This bridges that gap.

Questions to ask any child care center
  • Do you track each child's development individually?
  • What developmental framework does your program use?
  • Can you give me a developmental summary for my child's doctor?
  • What happens if you notice a developmental concern?
  • How do structured activities differ from free play here?
A Thrivance-certified center can answer every one of these questions specifically and in writing.
The village concept is real. Children develop best when the people who spend the most time with them — caregivers, family, and physicians — are all working from the same picture. Thrivance builds that picture.
The research foundation

The science behind the 2×30 approach.

Every element of the Thrivance structure is grounded in peer-reviewed research. Three convergent bodies of evidence support why this program is designed the way it is.

Pillar 1

Consistent daily practice outperforms intermittent support

Research across language, motor, and cognitive domains consistently shows that frequency and consistency produce measurably better outcomes than the same total time delivered sporadically.

Harvard Center for the Developing Child; PMC frequency study (2021); systematic review of 170 studies (ResearchGate, 2023)
Pillar 2

Guided play outperforms free play and direct instruction

Skene et al. (2022) — a meta-analysis of 39 studies involving 3,893 children — found effect sizes of g=0.63 to g=0.93 in favor of guided play. NAEYC's 2020 position statement formally endorses guided play as core developmentally appropriate practice.

Skene et al. (2022) Child Development; Weisberg, Hirsh-Pasek & Golinkoff (2013, 2016); NAEYC (2020)
Pillar 3

Two shorter sessions with a break outperform one longer session

Distributed practice is one of the most replicated findings in cognitive and motor learning science. Mawson & Kang (2025) confirmed this across 3,000+ classroom studies. The 2×30 structure — morning session, natural break, afternoon session — is specifically designed to capture this advantage.

Mawson & Kang (2025) Behavioral Sciences; Baddeley & Longman (1978); Hall, Jordan & Robin (2007)

Thrivance Certified Center300 min ✓
300 minutes per week. A child in a Thrivance-certified center receives as much structured developmental support weekly as the research-recommended clinical maximum — embedded in daily child care they already attend.
WHO physical activity guidelines

The WHO recommends children under 5 accumulate at least 180 minutes of physical activity per day. The Thrivance 2×30 structure contributes 60 targeted, structured minutes of that daily recommendation. (WHO, 2019)
